Dignity at Work (Zero Tolerance) Policy

KingKabs staff and taxi/private hire drivers have a right to complete their work without fear of being attacked or abused and as such, KingKabs takes it very seriously if a member of staff or a driver is treated in an abusive or violent way. To successfully provide our combined services a mutual respect between staff, drivers and service users has to be in place.

We expect KingKabs staff and taxi/private hire drivers to be polite, helpful and sensitive to others needs and circumstances. We respectfully remind service users that very often staff and drivers can be confronted with a multitude of varying and sometimes difficult tasks, situations and decisions; often all at the same time.

We also understand that circumstances may lead to a service users not always acting in a reasonable manner and will take this into consideration when trying to deal with a misunderstanding or complaint.

However aggressive behaviour, be it violent or abusive, will not be tolerated and may result in you being asked to leave company premises, ejection from a vehicle (service user), banning from future use of our services (service users), having your agreement terminated (driver) and, in extreme cases, the Police being contacted.

In order for KingKabs to maintain good relations with staff, drivers and service users we ask that you read and take note of the occasional types of behaviour that would be found unacceptable:

  • Any physical violence towards any member of staff, service user or other driver.
  • Verbal abuse towards staff or drivers in any form, including verbally insulting or swearing at staff; whether it’s issued in-person, over the phone, emailed, as part of an online discussion (e.g. social media) or any other form of communication.
  • Racial abuse and/or sexual harassment.
  • Persistent or unrealistic demands, made with the intent to cause stress to staff and drivers. Requests will be met wherever possible and explanations given when they cannot.
  • Causing damage/stealing from KingKabs premises, staff, service users or other drivers.
  • Publicly revealing private personal information about a member of staff or a driver online (doxxing), and includes: publishing personal telephone numbers, publishing home addresses and publishing information with the intent to direct abuse or violence (e.g. names).

Please be aware that all calls are recorded and monitored; as well as emails and other forms of digital communication (e.g. messages, social media, forums, etc.).

Service Users: We also appreciate that service users have a right to be transported without fear of being attacked or abused and at KingKabs we take the thought of it occurring very seriously.
